Paula Salguero McCommons

Paula Salguero McCommons serves as a non-attorney Government Contracts Advisor/Legal Clerk at VAN SCOYOC ROBERTS PLLC (VSR). She provides advice and assistance on government contract matters that encompass all phases of the acquisition process, including advice on the negotiation, protest, and defense of contract awards, and the administration of contract performance, including disputes, claims and appeals.

While attending the George Washington University, Ms. McCommons worked as a Research Assistant at the Washington, D.C., Bureau of Cox Newspapers. After graduating from GWU in May of 1998, she relocated to the Czech Republic where she was instrumental in making the Berlitz School of Languages one of the top grossing schools in the country by teaching and marketing English language instruction to CEOs and top management of Fortune 500 global corporations. Also, she implemented a Spanish language program for her Berlitz office. She returned to the U.S. to work at The AES Corporation as Legal Assistant to the Senior Vice President and General Counsel assisting in matters relating to litigation, maintaining corporate records for the subsidiaries worldwide, and regulatory filings. At AES, she also participated in business development bids and corporate and project transactional closings. In the grassroots political area, McCommons has work experience with MSHC Partners, the leading direct mail firm in America, where she was involved in the implementation of grassroots mail programs for campaigns for Members of the Senate and House specific to their home state issues.

Ms. McCommons has a B.A. in Political Science from The George Washington University, and completed legal studies under the Virginia Law Reader Program. She is a a non-attorney member of the Hispanic National Bar Association. Ms. McCommons is a fluent Spanish speaker.
